What an inspiring few days in Asunción!
We brought together an extraordinary group of organizers, researchers, activists, and movement leaders from across Latin America to exchange experiences, build new connections, and imagine collective pathways toward a more peaceful, just, and sustainable future.
The conversations were rich, challenging, and deeply hopeful. Together, we reflected on the many ways militarization shapes our societies and explored alternatives rooted in care, social justice, environmental protection, and human rights.
One of the highlights of the gathering was the opportunity to learn from Indigenous and campesino organizations from Paraguay, whose struggles to defend land, territory, and life offer essential lessons for building lasting peace. Their leadership and lived experiences grounded our discussions and reminded us that demilitarization is inseparable from the fight for justice, dignity, and self-determination.
Beyond the sessions themselves, this meeting was about strengthening relationships across borders. Creating space for people from different countries, movements, and generations to listen to one another, share strategies, and build trust is one of the most important steps toward a stronger regional movement.
We leave Asunción with new ideas, stronger alliances, and a shared commitment to continue advancing 10% for All, because investing in people, communities, and the planet is the foundation of real security.
